twine makes it easy for Zoom hosts to create connection by enabling advanced breakout rooms and speed networking.

Multi-tag matching is our most powerful matching mode. Attendees are given the option to self-identify which attributes (tags) they identify with and who they want to meet with. Attendees can be matched on multiple variables and multi-tag matching puts the matching entirely into the hands of your guests.

How to Setup & Run Multi-Tag Matching:

  1. Select any participants from your participant list that you wish to exclude from the matchmaking. Participants will remain excluded until you re-include them.

  2. From the home screen, click "Create a Breakout"

  3. Select "Multi-Tag Matching" from the left hand menu

  4. On this next screen, input your Multi-Tag Matching settings and click "Save" to save your breakout settings as a template or "Launch" to start the breakout rooms

    • Round timer: how long you want each round of conversation to last

    • Group Size: the number of participants in each conversation per round

    • Tags: You can create as many tags as require and participants will select which tags they identify with and which tags they wish to meet with.

    • Strict matching ensures that guests are never matched with tags they did not select to be matched with. If this setting is turned on and there are not enough participants to create even matches, participants will be left in the main room with the host.

  5. When you launch the breakout, all participants that are in the app are shown a prompt to select the tags that apply to them and the tags that they wish to be matched with

  6. As the host, you are shown a setup screen where you can confirm all your settings and also see the tag selection status of all your attendees.

On this screen, you will see three sections:

    • Match Details: This is a summary of all your settings

    • Selected Tags: the total number of participants who've selected each tag

    • Participants: this section displays participants who are still selecting tags and participants who are not in the app, who will be matched with anyone

  7. Once all participants in the app have selected their tags, you can click "Start Matchmaking". Participants in the app are automatically placed into rounds of conversations based on your settings and their tags.

  8. In the breakout rooms, attendees are shown each other's tags

  9. These rounds will continue until you click "End Matchmaking" and bring everyone back to the main room.

πŸ’‘ PRO TIP: Tag-Based mode will match all participants who are not in the app (because they are unable to make selections), so let participants know that everyone will get matched even if tags were not selected.
